. . . reconciling art, music & language is the next phase of the creative journey . . .
During my creative life, I have survived a sea change in methodologies while moving between being artist, designer, business owner, educator, musician and parent.
Classical drawing and painting skills training, art history and creative problem solving in the field of graphic design were experienced while earning a Bachelors degree in fine arts and design.
Working as a designer in print, interactive, video, animation and web media, I innovated and adapted to many emerging new media. I owned a small design/media firm, during which I earned a Certificate of Entrepreneurship in small business.
Teaching design theory, the wonder of art, and graphic software continually sharpens my communication skills and generates more questions about the creative process.
Searching for the foundations of art and creativity led to earning a Masters degree. While continuing to draw, paint, write and perform music, I explored writing, communication, ethnography, journalistic framing, narrative analysis and video editing as narrative choice to actualize the understanding of creative interactions.
More teaching and educational theory is an ongoing enhancement of spirit, a solidification of skills, and a sacrifice of self to encourage others.
Music exists as Latin, jazz, bossa nova, folkloric and spiritual works in English, Spanish and Portuguese. I have written over 100 tunes and sing, play guitar and bass.
The raising of three, now grown, children during a very full life of art, music, language and technical realms pushes creative problem solving to its limits.
Therefore, there is a need to foster a return to the original self; to release, reconcile and harvest the creativity that was compressed into a lifetime of art, music, media design, business, teaching and parenthood.
New works are being conceived.
